What is the best software for music creation without needing to record instruments?

Question by tenkstone: What is the best software for music creation without needing to record instruments?
I am currently nursing broke hand, so any and all instruments are not an option. I’m in a bind and need however to meet a deadline. Is there a primer software (based mar), which is really good at it, instrument samples in original pieces of tracks that can be mixed?

Fruity Loops is a fun sampler/drum machine/editing program that you can spend countless hours with. Here’s a screenshot: http://www.matthewdoucette.com/musiccomposition/fl3.gif

Pro-53 is a great synth program too. Here’s that link:

I have both programs, and they’re really fun. You can try them out for a while before they expire. Download.com has both available. You can also record the sound produced with any program on your windows sound recorder once configured correctly. Email me if you need help with that.
