What is the best software for the videos with a webcam (video only talk, nothing special). I too would like a program that created the file in. MOV format, so I can send it to my friends iPod touch and can be played.

Total Screen Recorder will can record videos and audios. I usually record webcam videos with that.
I use the free http://mailVU.com service to record webcam videos and send them to people as it doesn’t require any attachments. If you record on your hard drive and try to email it you’d have to keep it under 10Mb in size.
